This program is made to create an outlet for current and aspiring artists to come learn new skills and perfect their techniques. Classes are small and intimate to allow each student to have time with Eliza tailored to their own skill level and needs. The Intro to Artistry Course is perfect for aspiring makeup artists and makeup lovers! The course focusses on application to a client and covers a huge range of practical application skills as well as small business knowledge and social media and photography skills.

Weekly Outcomes

Below is the curriculum for the course. This gives you an idea of the sorts of skills that will be taught in the classes and how they will be delivered. This course outline is flexible and is designed to be easily adapted to suit individual students ability levels.
 
Week 1- Lets Start With The Fundamentals

Week One is all about learning to use your kit to its full potential and learning how to best enhance ones features to create your ultimate everyday makeup look. Learn tips and tricks for long lasting makeup and glowy skin as well as a basic quick eye look.

Outcomes-

  • Basic eyeshadow techniques and blending
  • Basic everyday foundation application
  • How to maximise your use of product and brushes
  • Basic skincare
  • Basic liner techniques                                                                                                               
Week 2- All About The Base

Week Two is all about perfecting base makeup techniques. Class starts with a demo followed by practical work with guidance. We end the class with a social media workshop.
Outcomes-

  • How to create a full coverage base without looking caked
  • Highlighting and bronzing
  • Contouring basics
  • Working on client basics
  • Avoiding flashback
  • Social media marketing
  • Setting up a business
  • The importance of goal setting
  • Taking photos for instagram
Week 3- Smokey And Soft

Week Three is where we start to apply to basics we have learnt in weeks 1 and 2 and put them towards creating more advanced and complex looks. Start to venture into creating smokey eyes and event makeup. Class starts with a demo followed by guided practical work.                                                                Outcomes-

  • Creating the perfect eye base
  • Blending techniques for eyeshadow 
  • Brush placement 
  • Shimmer and pigment application 
  • Lash application 
Week 4- Cut Crease Glam

In Week Four we use all the skills we have learnt so far to create more complex eye looks. We focus on the fundamentals of light and shade to create the popular trend of a Cut Crease. Class starts with a demo and is followed by practical class.

  • Importance of contrast, light and shade
  • Identifying eye shapes
  • Applying glitters/pigments
Week 5- Working With Colour

In Week Five we go all out and really put our skills to the test! Working with colour is all about adapting the frameworks we have learnt to different colours and stepping outside our comfort zone!!!

  • Creative makeup application

Week 6- Skills In Action

In Week Six we use all skills used so far in the course to create a look of your choice. Students are given ample time to complete a full look and we finish off the class by handing out the certificates!
